Before buying roving yarn - some research has shown that it is very difficult to clean (spot clean only and not washable), it can break while working with it and fall out like crazy over time of use. I wanted to do one of those short throws that I see in cozy homes all over social media. Please note that I bought this knowing it would be for decorative purposes rather than a cozy quilt. I've been searching Revain and other sites for much longer than I care to admit looking for this particular dark blue color and weight. Although this is a small expense for the yarn, it was less than many other options. With this I found it to be an excellent even yarn for making a small chucky blanket. I didn't feel it and used it as is after opening the package. The yarn is very soft and the color is a nice dark blue. It has crumbled a little while I've been crocheting, but never quite ripped or torn. A couple of times I messed up and had to unbutton large sections of the duvet. It had no trouble getting loose and starting again. I bought a 6 lb size and it made a small blanket about 31 by 66 inches. It's a bit long and not wide enough, so if I had to do it again (or if it bothers me enough to take it apart later), I'd increase the width by 1-2 stitches. In general I like the look. throw. In about 2 months I've used it a few times for a quilt but mainly to add texture and cosiness to the living room. In the pictures you can see that the yarn is a bit frayed in places, but the yarn doesn't necessarily fall off (unless I pull it off). It also picks up some random bits of paper or dirt that are light in color but brush off easily. I don't think it would be as noticeable on a lighter yarn. If you are going to use this yarn for a commonly used item like a scarf I'm not sure if this is the right yarn for the project. that it would be so noticeable on a lighter yarn.
