Review on 🎧 Bose QuietComfort 35 Headphones Ear Cushion Kit - Enhancing Comfort with Black and White Options by David Flores

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great fit and quality but difficult to fit and easy to get wrong

Finally decided to buy these after the ear pads on my original QC 35 (non II) started to lose their faux leather coating. Mine lasted four years but started losing coverage about a year ago. This is despite what I would call moderate use. A few hours a day of music at work and maybe an hour or so in the evenings in front of the TV. I also use them a lot in zoom meetings and such for remote work. As far as I remember they fit exactly like the originals and the quality is good, but they are quite difficult to install. Luckily, they come with installation instructions. I found a few YouTube videos showing the replacement process, but the instructions that come with it pretty much sum it up. I was able to install mine in about 30-40 minutes which involved removing the old gaskets and grilles, removing the remnants of tape from the old grilles and installing the new grilles and pads. fits under 10 (not 9 as instructed) the plastic tabs need to be squeezed to fit. So you have to press down pretty hard with your fingernail. Mine didn't fit that well. The foam lip is a bit fragile, so the installation process is a bit unforgiving. If you mess up, they will be destroyed. I suppose that's what causes them to fall out in some people. If I had any advice it would be to start with the top notch, then do the bottom notch, then one on each side and then do the rest. The lip is fairly snug against the body of the earbuds, so if you're just doing one side and walking in circles they tend to pop out as you walk (at least that's been my experience). And yes, they are a bit more expensive for what they are. But they lasted four years and are original equipment. Just spend the extra $15 and buy them, no fakes. If you can afford $350 headphones, you can only afford one every few years. ;) 5 stars for the quality, but a total of 4 stars because of the unnecessarily cumbersome installation. Fortunately, this is only necessary every few years.
