This is a wired router. It doesn't project WiFi; You must use an Ethernet cable to connect. If you need WiFi, it's best to find another router like RB952Ui-5ac2nD or RB941-2nD-TC. To be honest I don't understand how they keep the price so low. I've spent some time researching routers and this was the best deal I could find in the long run. I was skeptical at first, but it really is as good as everyone says. This little thing can do almost anything you want, plus 100 more things. You don't have to be an expert to use this, but if you're one of them, you'll love it. Basic setup is just as easy as other routers; I just plugged it in and it worked (automatic IP, firewall, dhcp, etc.). Advanced settings like routing and pooling are more complicated. However, I'm not a network expert and I still figured out how to turn a router into a free L2TP personal VPN, so the UI is still user-friendly and has only been customized for people who want to tell the router exactly what to do. You have full control over almost everything it does. The support from Mikrotik is amazing. They have a huge wiki and a helpful community. UPDATE This thing is a beast (good beast). After daily use for the past 16 months, I still haven't had to restart it. Not once. He keeps going like a champion.
