Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Boom Gaming Microphone Cable: Compatible with PS4, Xbox One, PC, Laptop, Phone, and Sony Headphones - Volume Control and Mute Switch Included by Ann Coleman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good workmanship, good microphone, no lock on Bose.

I ordered the 'version' of this product for the Bose QC25/35 and the box I received confirms this is the one I received but it seems like a simple rebrand of the model for either Technica or Sennheiser audio headphones with anti-rotation on the plug when connected to headphones. Bose headphones don't have such a latch, so the latching tab on the end of the Bose model's plug is useless, and the cable/plug is free to rotate to move the mic. I can put some Sugru around the jack to match the shape of the plastic around the jack on the headphones to prevent rotation. The product is not bad - it works as expected, but I think it should be labeled "FOR AUDIO EQUIPMENT [ANY MODEL] with lock. Also fits Bose QC25/35โ€. The presence of separate models gives the impression that the Bose version is intended for Bose headphones. The ideal QC35s version of this would have a large, wide, flat rubber flange on the headphone jack to keep it from rotating. Update: I had to downgrade my rating here to 3 stars. The supplied "Y-cable" for splitting a TRRS cable into two TRS cables has the disadvantage that it only puts the microphone on the LEFT CHANNEL pin/sleeve. This way you only get the microphone sound through the left channel. You could fix this by either connecting the mic cable to the TR or wiring it so the mic connects to both channels of the TRS. I ended up using a spare Y-cable I had and it does it right.
