In my utility room I have 100 or more hefty plastic containers stored on Metro style metal shelving with chrome wire. I wanted to mark the metal shelves to draw attention to the trash can clusters. I used this magnetic strip with a Brother p-touch sticker maker with 3/4 inch black tape on a yellow background. - Cross the sides of the shelf, not a hard metal surface. The strip is magnetic enough to hold the strip in place. The strip fits perfectly on the sides of the shelf. The white vinyl attached to the strip was useless. The adhesive that attaches the strip The white vinyl on the strip is not strong enough. But that question didn't bother me. I only covered the black stripe with a 3/4" black and yellow label. is that the stripe can be cut to the exact size of each label. The end result looks great and performs as expected. I have over 80 left foot of strips left over so I can make labels on demand for years to come.
