Review on Melissa & Doug Let's Play House: Dusting, Sweeping, Mopping! 6 Piece Pretend Play Set by Athenasby Whitney

Great if you're not paying full price

Bought for my son on Prime Day for about half the price of a regular one. I've had this on our wish list for quite some time, but I've refused to pay the ridiculously high prices that Melissa & Doug products carry. After receiving the item and unboxing it is definitely nicely made but still not worth the usual $30-$35 price tag. A family friend has a cleaning playset for her child that she bought at Wal*Mart for about $15 and I would say it's every bit as good as this set. I know people love Melissa & Doug products but at the end of the day they're still made in China like any other brand - the name on the product doesn't always reflect the quality and I've seen Melissa products more often than not. & Dougs that we own (bought or received as gifts) are absolutely not worth the hype or inflated price. While this product is quite durable as mentioned, the stand falls off too easily and the bristles fall out after just one day of play. 4 stars because it does what it's supposed to, but for the price one star dock because it's not worth the regular price.

Pros
  • BUILDS SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE: This skill and confidence building kit is designed to strengthen and develop your child's sense of purpose. Each piece of play equipment helps them develop coordination and fine motor skills. Comes in 'no disappointment' packaging designed to be easier to open and reduce waste.
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
