Our 16 year old senior cat really likes this tray as it is very spacious. This is a medium sized cat. We bought another set of cat litter before Kitty Go Here. Although they had a lower step through and higher sides, even the large one was too small for an older cat to be comfortable and our cat let us know. Well, let's just say I have pads under my mattress topper, my sheets, and over the comforter. She seems very happy with Kitty Go Here trays and has never been a disgruntled cat. These trays are like little sandpits. Even if the sides are low, we can't say it's tracking down more junk than before. I would recommend placing the box on a large tray. I've seen some reviews that say the filler is sticky, making it difficult to scoop out. We don't have this problem at all.
