This welder has its pros and cons. This welding machine is not suitable for continuous use. First to the disadvantages: The current display is extremely inaccurate. At first I was very frustrated trying to run 6013 3/32 bars at 120 volts. I haven't tried 240 volts yet. The amp was so small that the 6013 bars just couldn't handle 60 amps. I soon found that the actual current was about 35 amps less than what the display showed and I increased the setting to compensate. Then the 6013 studs ran the same as the 6011 and 7014 studs. It turns out that this is a common problem for Chinese welders. When using this welder, you must experiment by setting the power control to a level appropriate for your stick, rather than the recommended amperage. Finally I removed the cap and set the gauge to 30 amps so it's now close enough that I don't have to experiment to light the stick. It shouldn't have been necessary. Pros: Light, simple and inexpensive. It's built pretty well for what it is and if not abused should last for quite a while. It will work with most 3/32 rods and some 1/8 rods from a 120 volt outlet with a 20 amp breaker. If you are concerned about the very inaccurate current displayed, do not buy this machine. If you're willing and able to work with a faulty display, it should work for an accidental repair or manufacture.
