Review on Firefly Kosher Eucalyptus Scented Clean Fuel Lamp Oil - Smokeless Bulk 5 Gallons for Longer Burning Efficiency by Heather Artis

My mother brought me two Dietz flashlights that her father used once. He used it to build a pumping station in winter to keep the pipes from freezing. He also burned kerosene in them, and over the years they got very dirty. After his death, my mother used them as mantel decorations and they have not been used in 40 years. They were in very good condition for their age and I spent some time taking them apart and cleaning them. I didn't want to put them in "brand new" condition as I figured paint wear and other imperfections related to age would give them a bit more character. After they started working again, I decided to use Firefly's special fuel, hoping it would be better for flashlights than kerosene. I didn't want to deal with the polluting smoke again, and the smell of kerosene isn't exactly pleasant. I'm happy to report that this fuel worked great on old lanterns. It is odorless and only smokes when I start drawing the wick very high. It was amazing to see the lanterns working again and as a kid I thought they were just broken decorative elements. We probably spent a few hours in the garage tonight watching them light up and talking about our grandfather and the history of these special lights. Now I'm looking for another lantern that I remember hanging on the wall of one of our old barns in our house. If I can find it and fix it, I'll definitely use that fuel in it too.
