A must for bodysurfers

I have experience bodysurfing and often when the waves are small or medium they don't generate enough power to keep you on the crest of the breaking wave so you end up mostly whitewater afterwards drive when the wave breaks. Yesterday I had my first opportunity to use The Grom and I was very happy. The waves were in the 3 foot range but with very short periods between waves, drastically reducing the power they produced. Same as a week ago, only this time the Thunder allowed me to hit the face faster and rotate the barrel for a much more exciting ride. I was carried farther and walked faster, slightly doubling the distance than without, and was able to control the wave better. A little buoyancy makes a big difference. After a few waves, you'll get comfortable. Watch some Slyde videos online for tips on how to get the best performance. Get a leash as it will fall off your hand from time to time. The small size is great, easy to carry, fits in a backpack or under the seat of a car so it's always on hand when you have time for a surprise beach visit.
