We have 4000K Cool White and they are amazingly bright. The photo shows a comparison to the previous CFL light which was relatively yellow and although in the photo it's hard to As you can see it wasn't nearly as bright. If you want less 'white' light I would recommend the 3000K option but they are perfect for what we wanted in our kitchen. And they were only marginally more expensive than replacement CFL bulbs. Installation was easy after a few minutes of "how the hell do you install that?" and a moment of "ahhhh". including the time I spent being a bit "slow", 4 bulbs took about 15-20 minutes. It would have been quicker if the previous bulb was easier to remove (stupid little springs and fat fingers), the ceiling wasn't so high and one of the chandeliers didn't have to wriggle me over the kitchen sink!
