quiet, easy to clean, works well

I've always wanted a juicer, but only one that lets the pulp through. This fits the bill. One problem: The place where the juicer assembly (juicer) attaches in the motor unit is plastic on plastic. The three 1-inch tabs pivot behind the corresponding tabs on the engine block, locking securely and requiring the push of a button to release. Juicing carrots seemed to put such a strain on this motor unit/juicer assembly that I used my left hand to steady the juicer while my right hand fed and pounded on the carrot halves. Not sure if that bodes well for the longevity of the machine. Taking off one star for plastic-on-plastic warpage and expected durability. But otherwise the car wins. Quiet operation and very easy cleaning stand out. And it's pretty easy to get around. Juicing was easy, there were no leaks. Cleaning was incredibly easy, wow! I used the included toothbrush-like brush to get into the crevices of the juice strainer (which looks like a washable metal coffee filter) and the cleanup was a snap! The machine requires a three-pin plug. The back of the engine block is well held by suction cups. The weight is an issue for my back, but moving the engine block alone, which seems to weigh 5 or 6 pounds, wasn't an issue. Big plus for me. The juicer did a great job with carrot juice. The user manual states no more than 10 minutes without cooling. I was able to squeeze 2.5 pounds of juice in 10 minutes. peeled carrots yielding 15 ounces of juice. A masher (the manual calls it a push rod) is definitely needed to push a carrot halfway through the juicer's auger (the manual calls it a spiral pusher). Cleaning is so easy that going out after 10 minutes and rinsing the parts seems like the right thing to do. Even if you run it again after it cools down.

  • Easy to use
