Review on πŸ’‘ POWRUI Surge Protector with 2 USB Charging Ports & 6-Outlet Extender - White (ETL Listed) by Ryo Flora

Not perfect but good enough, I've bought more for other places.

All in all this is a great surge protector with the bonus of 2 USB charging ports. The two main cons for me are: (1) the case isn't designed to be flush mounted to the wall, leaving a visible gap between it and the wall at the edges of the surge protector, and (2) the surge protector is designed to fit over both Sockets mount in a standard outlet, but the Surge Protector protection device only plugs into the socket of one socket and then has a small plastic tab that fits into the bottom socket instead of plugging into both sockets and uses the electrical connections of both sockets. I have an older model that plugs into both outlets and fits snugly against the wall making it more durable, cosmetically smooth and seamless, and half the expansion outlets in the old model are powered from each of the two outlets in the outlet, not all of them are powered (and fixed) from just one of the outlets. The surge protector does bolt to the wall box/outlet, but the mismatch with the wall means it's not fully mated to both outlets. The outlet is a little loose and you need to be extra careful when unplugging devices from the surge protector. I put a hand on the surge protector cover to hold it in place while I pull out the cables I want to unplug. Having an older model that plugs into both outlets and the wall sets a great standard that I couldn't find again. Maybe I'm being picky, but I know that this surge protector COULD be better if it's designed to address both of the aforementioned drawbacks. Aside from that, I love it so much I've bought two more for other places where family members often compete for access to charge their electronic devices, or where they constantly turn off lights, landline phones, and other stationary electrical devices to charge their phones or tablets. They offer many more outlets in the same place, the ability to plug in USB cables directly instead of bulky adapters, and there's no good reason for anyone to turn off lights, alarms, or landline phone chargers.

Pros
  • Two smart USB charging ports: 5V total, 2.4A; Hi-Speed USB ports automatically detect chargers and deliver optimal charging speeds of up to 2.4A per port. In addition, your mobile phone can be conveniently placed on the top phone holder while charging.
