I bought this because it has a flat bottom for use with a drink warmer. The problem is that when heated on a heating pad, the entire mug gets as hot as the contents. I bought a warmer that keeps the drink at 185 degrees Fahrenheit which makes it very difficult to drink. It would be nice if the temperature of the drink was around 135 degrees. I need a china mug for my needs. UPDATE: I was thinking about this too quickly. I tried again without the lid over the cup and the lip didn't heat up at all and my coffee was 185 degrees. I will use them for my drinks.
