Review on πŸ”Œ Kitchen Pro 101 Foldable Electric Kettle – Dual Voltage – Expandable & Collapsible – Easy Storage – Travel Friendly – BPA Free Silicone (Black) by Bishop Richter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love this portable kettle. but.

Five stars in total. I love how small and compact this kettle is when folded. I filled it to the bottom of the plastic rim around the top and then poured in almost 4 cups of liquid to make it a large capacity.** It boiled cold tap water in ONLY 6 MINUTES at the top plastic rim).** It has an auto shut off feature and a reboil: it turns off automatically when the water boils, but I left it on, and after a few minutes (maybe 8?) it started boiling water again. However. The smell in the container was very strong and chemical. I poured a cup of distilled vinegar and filled it completely with water. I ran it through 3 boil cycles, then emptied and rinsed the kettle. I still smell a little. I had an idea that it might be the plastic rim/lid/handle that smelled so I poured 3 cups of water, boiled and poured into a clean container. Smell test passed, no extraneous odors in hot boiled water. Therefore, I feel comfortable using it for my hot drinks. It took about 15 minutes to cool enough for me to fold and store comfortably. I can try turning it over and soaking the handle/top edge in diluted vinegar/water to see if I can leach out the smell, but I don't mind using it as is. The only improvement I'd like to see is that the handle folds up somehow. I would buy it again in a heartbeat despite the hassle of cleaning it.

Pros
  • AUTOMATIC ISOLATION. Insulation function automatically heats up to boiling again after cooling down
Cons
  • So far so good
