I have three dogs that we take on many road trips and I vaguely wanted to protect them but never did anything in particular. After a safety course a few years ago, when local police demonstrated how a 30-pound child or pet can easily escape your hands and end up on the road after smashing through the windshield in an accident, we looked at car seat belts. We've had the more common types of seatbelts that attach to the seatbelts (we use our own seatbelts though) and while they work great, they cost about $20 each and take a bit of time when it comes to changing them between our cars. . On a whim I bought one of these to see if it would snap securely into my car. It was, and such a less bulky option that moves easily from seat to seat (no need for seat belts!), we immediately ordered enough for all three dogs in both cars. For the price I really expected it to fall apart when opened but so far it's been fantastic!
