Only suitable for loose leaf tea and whole herbs

I drink a lot of tea and have tried this teapot with many different varieties. I have several brewing spoons that work very well in cups, but I was looking for a good brewer to use in a teapot. That will do. Good: - High quality mesh. it keeps its shape and is easy to clean.- I like that the mesh ensures a good flow of water around the leaves because it allows the leaves to brew more evenly.- Price . $1.50 for a tea ball is a solid price. - The locking mechanism is solid and does a good job of preventing the ball from opening. - In 3 months of heavy use (1-3 teapots on a weekday) there was no rust or discoloration. good chain The chain is good quality and long enough to wrap the chain around the handle and attach to the chain. The "hinge" is a simple piece of wrapped metal that quickly shrinks, allowing the two halves to separate. I've tightened the loops with pliers when needed, but they still allow a lot of tee through the gap. (See pictures - this teapot was made from cut English breakfast tea.) Summary: If you're brewing your tea in a cup, I highly recommend one of the spoon-shaped brewers instead of this scoop. If you buy tea with smaller particles (e.g. fine herbal tea or rooibos) be prepared for the smaller particles to come out of the brewer. Loose teas or herbs are an effective option. However, I will buy something else when they wear out.
