I used this drill to drill holes in concrete, 7/8" holes through 2 x 4.3" deck screws to build a small deck , and mixed 5 gallon pail with very thick masonry waterproofing paint. It's a beast and excellent value for money. The multi-speed selection is very useful for specific jobs, with a good range of revs and torque. I read other reviews that said there is no difference in hammer mode. This was not my experience. Percussion mode worked great for drilling a few dozen holes in 12 year old fully cured concrete. I've tried using a regular drill before and only managed to burn out a few carbide tipped drills without completing the first hole. After purchasing a Ryobi rotary hammer, I was able to drill many holes with a single carbide drill bit. I find this drill to be very powerful and has held up well over several months of intensive home use.
