This silly, almost intentional design won't shut off the motor when placed between a hammer and a regular drill! If you leave the knob in the middle it will grind the gears and destroy it forever after the mechanical aromatherapy smoke show. I do NOT recommend this drill.
I thought I'd buy a brand new drill because it's the same price as Home Depot. It has been 'restored', listed in the fine print in the 'details' section, so technically it's my fault. Why would anyone buy a used item when they can buy a brand new one from the official store? This is clearly a strategy and it has worked for me. Sent it back but had to use it the next day. It's not the end of the world, but the lesson here is don't buy from someone who only has 17 reviews. I think this happens aβ¦
I used this drill to drill holes in concrete, 7/8" holes through 2 x 4.3" deck screws to build a small deck , and mixed 5 gallon pail with very thick masonry waterproofing paint. It's a beast and excellent value for money. The multi-speed selection is very useful for specific jobs, with a good range of revs and torque. I read other reviews that said there is no difference in hammer mode. This was not my experience. Percussion mode worked great for drilling a few dozen holes in 12 year old fully
