Review on BESIGN BK01 Handsfree Bluetooth Car Kit with Noise Isolator for Music Streaming and Calls via 3.5mm Aux Port by Oliver Phelps

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent BT receiver.

WOW! Okay, I've rarely ordered a product that was exactly what the manufacturer and reviewers said it would be and did everything exactly as I hoped it would with no setup or installation issues. This is one of those rare items (actually a tool) that I was hoping for. When I received it today, I checked all the details, experimented with where I wanted to install the BK01 in my car, and then paired it with both mobile phones. The sound I heard through car speakers with Pandora and Revain Music was INCREDIBLE. Much better than when I used the extra audio input to listen to music through my phone. AND MUCH LOUDDER. In fact, with my phone on full volume, I found that the low volume on my car radio was the "right" volume for my ears. Of course, if I wanted to rock it, there was plenty of room for it. The BK01's controls worked as advertised, which is handy. No more reaching for my phone, unlocking it, and then using touch controls on my Galaxy S7 to pause or stop streaming music. The best part is that by using my BT settings on my phone to connect the BK01, I set it to only stream music from my phone and not my phone calls. My phone can connect to two devices at the same time. So it's still connected to my device's BT, so I can use the device to make calls and the BK01 to stream music. This allows me to still use my phone book stored in my car to make voice calls. For those wondering, when I receive or make a call, the BK01 will pause my music until the call ends and then automatically resume my music. The only issue I found was that when making a BT call through my car I have to turn up my car volume so I can hear the person on the other end of the line. If the music continues, it is too loud. It's not the BK01's fault, it's just how the two systems work and getting used to turning the volume down in the car after a phone call has ended. During installation, take the time to decide how you want to route the cables from the installation location (usually on the dashboard), the cigarette lighter (or USB port if you have one), and the audio input jack. I managed to route the cables underneath my center console, except for a brief transition from the bottom of the console to the center console compartment where the audio jack and auxiliary power connector are located. I had enough cables on the USB port (which is a few inches shorter than the 3.5mm jack line) to plug it in. It's not an "invisible" install, but you have to search for it to see it. Finally, one of the things that really drew me to this device was the cigarette lighter auto on/off feature. Many other receivers either don't do this or have a battery so they stay on when the ignition is turned off. This feature, along with automatic pairing with the last device it was connected to (as long as BT is on on that device), makes it almost as good as the in-car tech. I've noticed that my Galaxy S7 pauses music playback if I turn off the ignition when listening to Pandora. However, my Motorola Droid switches and continues to play Pandora through my phone. Again, this is a phone issue, not the BK01. All in all, I can't say enough good things about this device. For my 2011 Hyundai Genesis which didn't come with BT for audio connections this is a near perfect cost effective solution. I hope this review helps you.
