This is the second time we have bought these collars for our dogs. My son lost the remote control from the previous one. We live in an area where almost every household has a dog. We like to let our dogs play, so we keep them to ourselves. What I love most about these collars is that once our dogs hear that beep, they know a vibration will follow. We don't use shock mode, I think it's a bit brutal, but the beep/vibration alone keeps them under control when outside. I think a couple of times we had to use electric shocks when our dogs charged after another dog. These collars are great. They are long enough that we measure the neck of each of our dogs and cut off the rest of the collar. Each collar must be assigned a number. Each dog has its own number. Simply scroll to the dog number on the remote control and select Beep/Vibrate/Shock. Each has a level that you can set for each dog. Of course depending on how big/small your dogs are and how they can feel. I highly recommend these collars! We love her
