I bought a KYB MonoMax to replace the stock shocks on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition (almost Laredo). 114,000 miles on the originals and they were leaking grease and the rear was noticeably slippery going over bumps or highway bumps. Although the actual product looks different from the photo (it doesn't have a rubber bellows on the bottom half), it's just red and doesn't have any writing on it. They were fairly easy to replace, and the Jeep's mileage went from 19mpg to just over 21mpg just because the rear wheels were replaced. I did this for safety reasons, but I'll appreciate any help regarding gas mileage. The rear end doesn't buckle when loaded, and the rear wheel feels much tighter, which is good. Children like it when they are not "tossed" around so much.
