Review on πŸ“· Peak Design Leash Camera Strap Ash (L-AS-3): The Ultimate Photographer's Essential by Adrian Allen

The clips are awesome

There is nothing to say about the belt as a belt. I mean it's very pretty and the fabric is nice to the touch, slippery and silky and easy to adjust. That's all great, but there are many (many, many) belts in this world. What makes it amazing is the "clip" technology. I can't stress enough how much I love how easy it is to take the camera strap off and put it back on. Here's the Holy Grail that has long eluded me: I like shoulder camera bags (e.g. over the head on the right shoulder, and the bag hangs on the left). I've been carrying my bag like this for decades. But carrying a camera on a strap - especially a strap that I wear on my side, as I've been doing for a few years now - is agony. I'd really like to have a camera strap around my neck first, then a jacket ( when it's cold, and then a bag above it (with a camera and bag on opposite sides of me) but this doesn't work with a regular strap, the camera strap gets stuck in the strap pockets and all the circuitry doesn't work, and the straps of the bag should never be carried at the same time), and then i put the bag on. Then click* ! It takes about 2 seconds if you do it a few times. Hooray! The bag is happy, the camera is happy, I'm warm and all is right with the world. I need to research other products from these smart people but I can take so many amazing things in a given amount of time.

Pros
  • Super for me
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
