The AuraPro x2 1TB Kit costs more from OWC than other brands. But I didn't want to risk any compatibility issues with my rMBP as I know OWC products that Apple Computer Blade SSD works fine and cool on Mojave v10.14.5 with NVMExpress 4 channel channel width with TRIM support, although the read/write speed is a bit better (20m/s more) than my 4 year old 256GB OEM blade drive this old machine. But I'd rather it worked than installing an M.2 adapter with a cheaper M.2 SSD.The thing about this kit is it uses an OEM -SSD. As an external USB drive, it looks and feels good, but I wish it was a better size and had a TB2 port.
