Data storage overheating problem

13" MacBook Pro Retina Early 2015. I bought this SDD to replace the 128GB that came with the laptop. Installation was a breeze. Just loosen the screws on the cover, separate the Battery, remove the old SDD and put in the new one, reconnect the battery and put the cover and screws back on.cover.still much hotter.with minimal use of the macbook the temperature gets very high. After resetting the SMC seems better but still hot than with the old SDD I bought an OWC SDD because their (OWC) statement

Easy Install, Quick Upgrade SSD for Macbook Pro 15 Retina Mid 2014

I bought this Aura Pro X2 1TB SSD to upgrade my MacBook Pro (Retina 15" Mid 2014) instead of the original Apple 256GB SSD. Original for this MacBook Pro Pre-installation: MacBook Pro updated to OSX Mojave 10.14.5 I also made a Time Machine backup Installation: Was easy, follow the instructions according to the SSD installation videos provided by OWC Remove the previous SSD and put it in the case.Recovering the operating system: If you boot after replacing the SSD, turn on the machine, don't…

Will stop working in less than 10 days

Installing the OWC "Refresh" hard drive was easy by following their instructions of cloning the original Apple internal hard drive and then cloning your hard drive install assuming the Mac OS was High Sierra+ but after 10 days I get a brick with a crossed out circle and I had to reinstall the original OEM from Apple. The second generation of OWC's Aura SSD replacement does not appear to be any more reliable than the first generation for Macpro 6.1 (2013).

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Minor issues

Run cooler no problem in 13 " rMBP early 2015

The AuraPro x2 1TB Kit costs more from OWC than other brands. But I didn't want to risk any compatibility issues with my rMBP as I know OWC products that Apple Computer Blade SSD works fine and cool on Mojave v10.14.5 with NVMExpress 4 channel channel width with TRIM support, although the read/write speed is a bit better (20m/s more) than my 4 year old 256GB OEM blade drive this old machine. But I'd rather it worked than installing an M.2 adapter with a cheaper M.2 SSD.The thing about this kit…
