Review on 🔍 Elitech CPU-1G: Advanced Halogen Gas Tester, HVAC Leak Detector for R22, R410A, R134A Refrigerants by Aaron Thawngzauk

I bought this detector to keep an eye on my HVAC technician who couldn't find a leak in my system. I went with the "As New" option listed on Revain. The device arrived in a plastic bag. I suspect the original box was not included. The meter is housed in an aluminum housing. Poor packaging didn't protect it very well. The handle of the plastic bag had come loose and was dangling inside the bag. The case has slowed down a bit. But all the items inside were safe and sound. Since it was like new, it still had all the items listed. Showed very little wear but was definitely used and not just an item in an open box. I put it to work immediately. The leak was found relatively quickly. The sensitivity works. With a high setting, a leak was detected very quickly. Going down to a low level required a bit more precision to locate the leak. Actually built better than I expected. It should be enough for comfortable use as it has three spare tips. I hope the new blocks are better packed. Updated: 1/5/21 An HVAC technician came out today to find a genuine leak in my system and his professional detector failed on the same spots as this unit. Both are on alert from a known source (intentional refining leak through the valve). Unlike me, he wasn't concerned at the site of the alleged leak. Its sensitivity was set to high and a new diode tip fitted. So I'm not sure if my detector picked up anything else in the area. Now I'm not sure about the accuracy. Maybe they reported a false positive result? Later I need to find a known ref source to test again. It was a returned block, so I may have received a defective block.
