I had some doubts about the size of this item. It's bigger than any of my previous desktops, but the detail and features are amazing. The bamboo is smooth, although I'm very careful when picking up and placing my laptop because I don't want to scratch the underside of my gold 2020 MacBook Air. The wrist pad prevents slipping, even when lying on your lap at an angle (not on a table). My Apple Wireless Mouse *really* slips off the mouse pad and lands on the wrist pad when I take my hand off. This is a minor inconvenience. My iPhone 8 Plus is slim and *just* fits in the phone/tablet slot. I would not advise making sudden movements. All in all, a fine piece of craftsmanship that is both effective and visually appealing!
