Stupid construction workers have placed a shower next to a poorly insulated exterior wall. Last winter's deep freeze was cold enough to partially freeze and crack the insides of the old shower controls. Originally a tiny dripping speck, it has recently turned into a dripping stream which is why I ordered this item. The hardest part to fix was trying to pull the OLD valve body out of the housing. A special pulling tool helps but isn't really needed. Some silicone plumbers will lubricate the new part and it will slide smoothly with much less effort than removing the old one. There are no more leaks and the controls work smoothly. Great inexpensive replacement part. until the next deep freeze.
