Review on ISpring WGB21BM 2-Stage Whole House Water Filtration System, 10” X 4.5” Carbon Block And Iron & Manganese Reducing Filters, 1" Ports by Johnnie Bowlan

We have had a problem with black mold in the faucets and showerheads, apparently caused by excess manganese in the water. I researched various filtering systems and chose the iSpring WGB21BM 2-Stage Whole House Water Filtration System to hopefully solve this. I also bought the iSpring Spin Down Sediment Water Filter. My shutoff valve is in my garage next to the water heater. I don't have any free walls in the garage near the shutoff valve, so I installed it next to the water heater. Because of the location, it is a tight fit. I have included a picture of the installation.After the initial installation, I turned the water on and there were no major leaks. There was a small leak (about 1 drop per minute) at the inlet connection to the filter cap. Rather than dismantle the whole installation, I backed out the connector and rewrapped it with teflon tape. Upon reinstalling the connector, I misthreaded the inlet. Even though I have a tap of the 1" inlet size so I could "fix" the treads, there was no way of keeping it from leaking after that.I contacted ISprings on their support website. I received a prompt reply from Francis. ISprings sent me a replacement filter cap immediately. After I put my connectors on the inlet and outlet ports, I decided to test it with a garden hose before I put it back into the system. Fortunately, there were no leaks. I put everything back together and again no leaks within the whole system.I want to thank Francis and ISprings for the wonderful customer support. It is a real pleasure dealing with a company that respects and helps their customers. As far as rating the filters themselves, it is too soon to know if it solved my mold problem. I will give it a couple of months and rate it then.
