Review on ๐ŸŒฟ The Gardener's Friend Pruners: Ratchet Pruning Shears for Weak Hands - Perfect Gardening Gift for Any Occasion! by Travis Coffman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good but not great.

For the price and the number of 5 star reviews I've seen, I expected more. First, drop most of those 5-star reviews. Anyone who has used scissors before, or has used them to any degree, would not be in their right mind to give this product 5 stars. When I saw the packaging I was disappointed. The scissors were packaged in a typical Taiwanese plastic/cardboard box that conveyed no value whatsoever. The label on the scissors was crooked and loose. A spare blade oiler was included in the package and now I know why. But you're not reading this to check if the packaging is okay, are you? Construction: All hinges are rivets, there are no nuts and bolts holding them together, but there is no noticeable loosening or wobbling of the cutting blade. The handle fit my normal sized hand with a medium glove. I see others have had issues with gloves using these, I have not. Performance: The scissors were immediately razor sharp and the first cuts were easy. The ratchet worked well and the blade didn't flex when trying to cut large branches at awkward angles. I found the ratchet worked well and each time it was pressed and released it indexed correctly allowing for quick cuts. There has never been a time when it hasn't worked. I was able to cut the smallest branch into saplings about 1 inch with no problem. I had to put a little more effort into cutting further, but the scissors didn't show much change in their performance. As mentioned, the blade oiler stowed in the handle has disappeared along the way (hence the spare part in the packaging) and it is difficult to jam the blade. They have done their job today and hopefully will continue to do so in the future. But in the end they are fine.
