I put them in a brand new garland on the porch. They worked for several nights, but disappeared terribly quickly. Eventually the strand ran out and when I went to change it liquid got on my hands. I thought maybe it was rain or dew on the beach, but then my hands started tingling. Yes, battery acid. Everything is in my hands. The headlight chain broke but I had another one which I also bought on sale. So I put THOSE in, thinking the first string was bad, put in fresh batteries (from the same pack) and those batteries failed and leaked after just a couple of nights, ruining the SECOND string of lights. Luckily I used them in something cheap but imagine if it were something expensive! NOT WORTH THE RISK!
