Review on πŸ“· Arducam Raspberry Pi 5MP Camera Module V1, 1080P HD OV5647, Compatible with Pi 4, Pi 3, 3B+, and Other A/B Series by Patrick Matin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Installation OK, module damaged, excellent customer service

Installing this camera was fairly easy and took 5 minutes max. However, when I opened the anti-static bag it came in, the lens looked like it had a chip inside and the plastic lens holder was also scratched. The instructions mentioned a sticker to protect the lens, but I didn't see it in the bag or on the lens. The image quality is ok, but a bit washed out from the ground up. When I tried to claim a guarantee with Squarespace's guarantee, they said it was my fault and they wouldn't cover it. If you're on a budget this is a good camera, but if you have the money I'd recommend the official Raspberry Pi v2Edit camera: Shortly after I reported the issue, Arducam offered to replace my camera. They responded quickly and I received a replacement yesterday. Image quality is much better and now installed on my 3D printer for time lapse and remote monitoring! Attached is my latest timelapse :D My only problem is that there doesn't seem to be a way to focus the lens on closer objects (like the printer fan in my timelapse).
