Avoid and move on to Raspberry Pi HQ Camera

Broken junk that doesn't work. I had to spend my money on a Raspberry Pi HQ camera. Whatever additional features Arducam has to offer, it's not worth the hassle. So following all the lettwr instructions I hooked it up to my Raspberry Pi and a few times when the camera showed anything at all in the preview software the image was horribly underexposed. The housing is not easy to assemble, but it fits perfectly with my Raspberry Pi baby monitor. Image quality is good (this is a $10 camera, don't expect absolutely perfect studio quality photos). If you need to use the camera in low light then that's not great either, but for a basic camera it's pretty darn good, especially at this price point. Installation OK, module damaged, excellent customer service

Installing this camera was fairly easy and took 5 minutes max. The instructions mentioned a sticker to protect the lens, but I didn't see it in the bag or on the lens. The image quality is ok, but a bit washed out from the ground up. When I tried to claim a guarantee with Squarespace's guarantee, they said it was my fault and they wouldn't cover it. If

My camera didn't work.

I see a lot of reviews here that say how great the camera works so I'm pretty sure I have a faulty one but every time I try "raspistill -v - o test.jpg" I get the following: Camera Application "raspistill" (commit 06bc6daa0213 Tainted) Camera Name ov5647 Width 2592 Height 1944 Filename test.jpg Camera Usage 0 Sensor Mode 0 GPS Output Disabled Quality 85 Raw noThumbnail Enabled Yes Width 64 Height 48, Quality 35 Time Lag 5000, Time Lapse 0 Link to Last Image Enabled No Full Resolution Preview No
