Works well. It's very bright. The only bad thing about it is that it gets really really hot when all the lights are on. It's so hot I can't hold it. It doesn't get that hot when they're off, but I always use the automatic setting and that's where my problem comes in. Sometimes when I have to lift it off the tank to get into the tank, I press a button and it changes modes. . Now the manual doesn't say how to set it back to automatic and I can't figure it out and I'm pretty tech savvy. So I have to factory reset it. Turn it off and set the time again. And here the second problem arises. If it's within time to turn it on. It turns on very dimly and brightens every 15 seconds. Well I don't think this simulates a sunrise. He turns on the light slowly, not at full power all at once. BUT it mixes daylight settings with night settings, turns itself on and off, so I think that's important. My plants are now photosynthesizing. A solid buy, but I don't like seeing big plants get hot.
