Of course, this is a new lens. But it covers a huge range of focal lengths. And this is a great opportunity to try and understand where you want to move on and what to buy from more serious glasses :) Pros: The workmanship is head and shoulders above the whale 18-55. The assembly is solid, the boyonet is metal, the rubber bands are good, the rings spin comfortably. Distortion is normal. HA too. He doesn’t have a “drawing” or some kind of intricate color rendition, he just shoots as is. Its cons: In less than a year of use, dust appeared inside the lens. Haven't taken it apart yet, but it looks like I'll have to. On some plots, HA is just horror.
