I bought this lens separately, it didn’t come with me in the kit, I made my choice consciously, and over time I got a little disappointed in the purchase, but what it is is what it is. The lens has been serving me for the fourth year already, I mainly use it only for zoom, since it is mediocre at the wide-angle position, the focal lengths that are optimal in terms of sharpness are 24-85mm, I do not recommend using extreme positions, as the sharpness drops. That is, this lens seems to be universal, but at the expense of quality, of course, you can shoot masterpieces with it, no one argues, I took a lot of interesting pictures with it in my time. It is a pleasure to work with, it has a quiet focus motor, unlike my old lens, and the autofocus itself is more tenacious, although it sometimes misses. In general, the lens is worthy of attention, especially for beginners, since it has a relatively affordable price and it covers all the necessary focal lengths, and it will be indispensable when traveling, which I personally saw for myself a couple of years ago - I took this only one lens with me , and it was enough for me, I don’t need to carry all the lenses with me, this one replaces all.
- Metal mount. Convenient focus ring. The versatility of this lens is certainly at its best, especially for shooting reportage video, as the conditions are different, and this lens copes well with them. The stabilizer is very good, even at 135mm it holds well, and given that the lens is not fast, the stabilizer is very useful here. Good bokeh already from medium focal lengths.
- At the wide-angle position, it is unrealistic to achieve ringing sharpness, you need to cover the aperture, which means lengthening the shutter speed, this is not possible in all shooting conditions. There is no distance scale on the focus ring. The lens sucks dust more powerfully than a vacuum cleaner, filters do not protect in any way. The lens is very large, I had to buy a bag, since the camera with the lens could no longer fit in the old bag, perhaps this is subjective, but the fact is the place to be.
