Worn once. Can't say I've worn the boots down without them, but the point was to protect the boots. Looking at this product they offer a better grip on cement and asphalt than I would expect from metal. The spikes underneath still look like new. They didn't affect my ability to hook pedals and cleats together. The only thing I didn't think of before ordering is that the packaging says: helps hold loose screws. I felt a lot better not having applied Loctite when I had to adjust the spikes a bit. stack even more. If you take this route, don't be surprised if you find yourself almost tiptoeing.
