When looking for a CD player, I didn't have many criteria as to what I need it for: CD player, line-in (or iPod dock), under be $50 and have a decent sound (not asking too much, right?). Not that I had high expectations, this is a song only player for my five year old daughter and to be honest she's not overly picky about the sound anyway. The first three criteria were met, but the last, well, not so much. It's a "cute" turntable (according to my daughter) and a good size, but unfortunately after playing an acoustic folk album that she likes it's obvious that good sound wasn't RCA's standard either . It's a cheap turntable, but the fact that the turntable can't handle Puff the Magic Dragon or Jimmy Crack Corn's bass is a little disappointing. So if you're interested in a player for hip-hop, techno, or even pop music, don't expect much if the music revolves around an interesting beat or bass. I gave him three because I got the majority. Things I wanted from a cheap player and overall I really wasn't expecting Bose or surround sound to be played from a sub $50 music player. It also came very quickly but I love Amazon and their shipping department. I was always excited.
