Review on πŸ“· Nikon D7500 DSLR Camera Body - DX-Format Digital by Riko Tateishi ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

Since the review is not a review, I will be brief and say only what I noticed. I switched to the D7500 from the 5000 series. At first I wanted the D7100/D7200, but they didn't fit in my hand, but the 7500 did! Even though it's more expensive. The camera is externally compact, convenient, I got used to the control quickly. Shot about 2,000 frames so far. Finally, I understood what shutter speed, aperture, ISO, various focuses, etc. are for. (I mean, I started using it, and I used to shoot 99% in scene mode). This camera really allows you to get what the photographer wants from it. Pluses read above, here continuation. Video - 4k can, although I shot only in Full HD. Autofocus slows down, alas, but so does everyone. And of course, the lens motor will be heard on the recording. It's probably better to use manual focus for video. By the way, tracking and predictive focusing for photos and videos is also quite functional, it really allows you to take clear shots when you shoot a child, for example. The battery is enough for about 1000 frames, they didn’t lie. With the D7500, you immediately understand that you need to use good fast lenses so that the camera can show everything that it is capable of. I won’t mention a bunch of any settings, everything is here, including automatic HDR, control from a smartphone, etc. etc. What did not bother me at all: neither the lack of a second card slot (why is it, when it fits on the card above the roof), nor 20 megapixels (against 24 megapixels in the D7200). The only thing that slightly disturbed the harmony was the slow switching of scene shooting modes with the wheel. And the wheels are tight. In general, I am very, very pleased with the camera. Despite the fact that it is now the most expensive of all crops, if you have the money to buy it, you will immediately forget about the spent money. And if there is no money, you need to look for a camera in another class. And so, this, of course, is a completely different level - an advanced amateur will raise the quality of his work head and shoulders above.

Pros
  • Magnificent autofocus, almost instantaneous, perfectly focuses even in the dark. Moreover, it somehow recognizes faces and focuses mainly on them (through the viewfinder! In LiveView, this goes without saying). In normal lighting, focusing is almost instantaneous. High-speed shooting - 8 fps: I shot sports in motion, about 80% of the frames turned out perfect (sharp and in focus), it's just incredibly cool. The buffer holds 100 frames - for me it's through the roof. ISO, in principle, can be raised to 12800 - the noise is quite acceptable, it will do for home shooting. Due to the high acceptable ISO indoors, the flash was no longer needed. Even in low light, the camera takes clear and beautiful (in terms of color) frames. You shoot a seemingly gray semi-darkness - and you get a juicy picture. Color rendition - brought to the ideal ! Of course, I'm just an amateur, but I have never seen such a correct color reproduction from a camera. The faces are not white, not yellow, not gray, but flesh-colored, exactly the way they should be! Perfect. And this applies, of course, not only to faces, but to all subjects. It's great for portraits. A very useful thing is to adjust the focus for each specific lens. This solves the back/front focus problem once and for all. The flip-down screen is very useful, I have already used it when shooting from the height of raised hands and from below. By the way, the screen is touch-sensitive, it is convenient to make camera settings, as well as view photos. However, in photo mode, the touch does not work - maybe it's for the best.

Pros: Color rendition, speed, video, functionality. Cons: Build quality. Autofocus in LiveView.
