So I bought this to weigh groceries. It works great for that! But one day I weighed some hamburgers I bought to make patties and found a great use for the lid. I make 1/3 pound hamburger patties, but finding good abs for them was like finding the Ark of the Covenant—even Indiana Jones struggled with it! Note: This works for any size cake. I was looking around the kitchen for the millionth time looking for something round to use as a press when I looked at the lid for this scale. No, it's not round, however. Place the round hamburger ball on a sheet of wax paper, cover with a second sheet of paper, then turn the SCALE COVER over and place on the top sheet of wax paper. If you look closely, you'll see a small circle in the center of the cover. It may also have a tiny piece of plastic (small protrusion) that was factory molded into the stamp. Place this small circle in the center of the hamburger patty and press down evenly. Keep pressing until the patty reaches the edges of the lid, and voila! You have a perfectly formed patty, and it's easy to replicate! The main thing is to maintain the same pressure on the cover when pressing down. you can thank me later :) By the way, like the scale is also good - accurate and the zero function works fine.
