Good for food, not pharmaceuticals

I don't measure pharmaceuticals, so a half gram (or more?) error in coffee or other products doesn't really bother me. If I measure out 25 grams of coffee beans or 27, I'm not sure if you're going to find teaspoons or a tablespoon. Instead, I could use a yeast or other starter scoop. In the morning I will most likely tare the scale to a predictable amount of milk and do it again to measure the coffee beans before grinding. It's easy to change the settings, and they turn off fast enough to save…

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Great add on for meters and scales

I looked at a lot of reviews because I needed a different scale for my office. I have a Hairo scale with a timer and I kind of miss the timer feature, but I'm pretty good at watering and find I don't try on the timer as often as I used to. These are a bit faster than Hario with numbers, but both work great. This is a very good scale and it would be very difficult to decide if I were to buy another one. Probably JC-4000 just for the great functionality and lower cost / Can't say I miss measuring

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Useless features

Decent scale after a rocky start

I initially gave it 1 star as every household item I measured that was supposed to be of a certain weight was about 20% off. I dug into the manual and it says I need a 4000 gram weight to calibrate. Great, so do I have to buy calibration weights just to make this device accurate? Luckily I came across a blog that suggested using the US Mint's website and getting cents, dimes, quarters and dollars because they are made to exacting standards. The scale has a lag but it was fairly accurate, say…

Great scale that I have used for many years

This is my favorite kitchen scale. I use it to make coffee (liquor) every day and to measure ingredients in baked goods and sometimes in cooking. It's quick enough to measure and very clear to read, making it a great choice for casting. It can be accurate up to 4000g which is also usually more than enough to measure flowers/sugar etc in large baking bowls. He really hit the mark, good at everything (except espresso). I haven't had any real problems with it over the years that I've been using…

Makes the best hamburger press ever! Yes, I know it's dandruff.

So I bought this to weigh groceries. It works great for that! But one day I weighed some hamburgers I bought to make patties and found a great use for the lid. I make 1/3 pound hamburger patties, but finding good abs for them was like finding the Ark of the Covenantβ€”even Indiana Jones struggled with it! Note: This works for any size cake. I was looking around the kitchen for the millionth time looking for something round to use as a press when I looked at the lid for this scale. No, it's not…

Excellent scale for gauges and scales

I am buying this to replace Ozeri scales. It lacks the ability to make milliliters, but other than that I love this scale a lot more. The display is bright and easy to read. Best of all, NO "FAKE" BUTTONS! I don't know what it's called, but my old scale had buttons that weren't felt; You just put your finger on it and it does its thing. The buttons on these scales actually push and make a pleasant tactile click. I hated "electronic" buttons because !@#% didn't register them half the time. I…

Pros
  • Good product for its price

The numbers don't lie Niter makes this scale

I have recently started eating healthily and part of a healthy lifestyle involves portion control in all aspects of food intake. After looking at many different food scales, I settled on the Jennings CJ4000 x 0.5g digital scale. This scale was also recommended by The WireCutter, a website where I actually bought a few electronics based on their recommendations , and never been disappointed there. I'm glad I chose this scale. I forgot to mention that this is actually my second purchase of this…
