The compact size of this lightshow unit makes it portable enough to carry around. The projector's outer casing is made of thin metal (probably aluminum) but is strong enough. To clarify the compact shape of the projector, the width is only slightly larger than the remote control! It's a little weird, but it feels like you're controlling a small projector with a giant remote control. The fact that the projector is small doesn't detract from the capabilities of the device. It gives off a very bright animated display. Of course, projections look brighter and with better resolution in low ambient light. The coverage area is surprisingly wide. It will easily cover a large space. To check, I put it on the floor and pointed to the ceiling, but part of the projection hit the large mirror. A play of light filled the ceiling and two walls. If you can use mirrors it will enhance the light show experience. Attached are photos showing real world images, with a ruler for size reference. Some example images of light patterns are included. The product comes with a plastic bracket with 2 screws/knobs, a remote control, a USB power cable and a quick start guide. Please note that it does not include a USB power plug. So you either have to plug it into a free port on your laptop/desktop or use a free USB power plug like those used to charge smartphones. I personally think it should be included in this type of product. I think for a product like this, if it's going to be used for a party/holiday, for a few hours and mostly indoors, it should either have a regular AC adapter or a USB power plug. An animated light show will help create a festive atmosphere. No assembly is required other than mounting the bracket (just two screws/knobs). Plug in the cable (well, find a USB port or power plug), flip the power switch to the 'on' position, and the light show begins. Use the mode selection button on the front panel or the more user-friendly remote control.
