I love the Suunto Ambit 3 Peak, so I was willing to ignore complaints about the heart rate monitor's ease of use. Now I am very disappointed with how poorly this sensor performs in the long run. The basic design seems much better than other monitors I've used. And for the first few weeks it seemed like a good read. Then, as others on the internet have pointed out, it started jumping all over the place. I've tried deep cleaning the strap and monitor, re-pairing the watch, changing the batteries, and using gel to improve the connection, but it still randomly jumps to 220 BPM, then turns off and jumps then to 70 BPM. And it does this basically every time I try to use it. I don't understand how a company that makes such a solid watch can put up with this kind of performance from their heart rate monitor.
