I originally bought this for Takoyaki but soon discovered its versatility. I've made pancakes in a takoyaki pan with regular pancake mix and it turned out great. The pan is very easy to use and clean. I recommend preheating it to your desired temperature for 5 minutes. When I preheated it to 400-450 (hoping to heat it up faster) and then lowered it to 350 to make pancakes, I still burned the first batch. Haven't tried it for real takoyaki yet, but I have a feeling it's going to be great. I only gave 4 stars because of the instructions. I felt it could be improved. There were no temperature recommendations in the recipes. All he recommended was a very high temperature. For me that meant 400-450 degrees. I had to find out for myself through experimentation. For pancakes I recommend a temperature of 350 degrees. Once cool, simply wipe off and ready to store.
