I have a basement store where I enjoy spending time with various home projects and hobbies. That being said I like background noise so I turn on the radio but I missed the TV in my shop. We have cable but I would have to pay for an extra box to get the main channels and I didn't want that. I bought this antenna with the full expectation that I would have to return it, having tried others that did not receive a single station. For some reason the description and other reviews convinced me to try it. Also, Revane's super light recoil made the choice easy - I had nothing to lose. I got hope when I unpacked the antenna and read the simple instructions. I have limited space to mount the antenna and it will land a reasonable distance from any outside walls but luckily in a common area where the best signal comes from according to the website I found. Setup and scanning were automated. and when all was said and done I had over 12 channels. I had a few more but the reception wasn't as clear so I removed them from the TV menu. I now have 4 local channels including the public TV channel and a few others which was a pleasant surprise. I installed the antenna on the HVAC channel as that was the best place for reception and I had no problems.
