INSTRUCTIONS FOR GARDEN HOSES

I wrapped the 120 ft heat cable around a 100 ft 1/2 " garden hose. I ran it from a back yard, up to the roof of a five story apt. building. First check your your heating cable by taking it indoors then plugging it into an 110v outlet. Uncoil about 4 ft of cable from the thermostat side. Take a bucket or pail and fill it half way with cold water from the frig. then add at least 24 ice cubes. This is to make sure the cable is working. Once the temp. reaches about 35° or lower the thermostat should power up causing the heating cable to heat up, give it at least 10-15 min. If it doesnt heat up within 15 min. of being plugged in then, Send It Back Its A Defect. If it heats up then your ready for step 2. Step 2 while indoors uncoil your garden hose, wrap the entire hose with a good aluminum tape, not Reynolds wrap because it's too thin. Step 3 Uncoil your heating cable, now wrap your heating cable around the entire length of the aluminium taped garden hose. NOTE: Make sure the heating cable is tight around the hose. To assist with this, tape every 2 to 3ft of cable with a good electrical tape that can withstand at least 500° Fahrenheit to be on the safe side. Step 4 You will now wrap the hose with 1" black fire retarded foam insulation that's used for pipes. I recommend the self seal type. Step 5 Wrap the entire hose with a good rubber tape of your choice. Now the finale. The plug to the heating cable is very short so you may have to use a extension cord like I did. NOW TAKE IT OUTSIDE, PLUG IT IN AND YOUR READY TO GO! YOUR WELCOME. Only ⭐⭐⭐⭐ because the plug is too short.

Pros
  • Provides reliable and efficient heating for pipes during winter weather conditions.
Cons
  • The heating cable may not be effective in heating pipes with irregular shapes or sizes
