I wanted to use it in the garage to neatly organize my small tools and it works great for that. Because it's designed for knives, the magnets aren't strong enough for large, heavy tools like pliers and large crescent wrenches. However, it's great for things like scissors, wire cutters, and small tools that weigh about the weight of a flashlight. The insulation was easy, I only used two screws, no tape. Love it, I'm glad they include a paper template so you can position the screws accurately.
