I purchased the warm light instead of the bright night as it give a better glow at night on my plants. The solar panel can be tilted so you can aim it properly throughout the day to get maximum sun absorption. The light turn on automatically at dusk or when it gets darker. Works well when all conditions are met and gets full sunlight. Much weaker during winter months. There is no way to tell which mode its in so I thought mine was defective. When you first get it, charge it up for a day or two, wait until night time to select the mode you want, and then insert it into the ground. Overall, they are better than others on the market, but not the best. I usually end up changing them every few years due to harsh winters and wear and tear.
