This camera performs very well for the price. I installed it on my 2011 Ford Ranger pickup (standard cab). Everything I needed for the installation was included with the product, except for tape, some self-tapping screws to attach the camera, zip ties, a grommet, and putty for the hole I drilled in the firewall. I attached the power wires to the left reversing light using the wire connectors provided (see image). They made a very clean, secure connection without cutting or splicing any wires. The only difficulty was figuring out which wire on the reverse light was power and which was ground. Luckily I was able to find a schematic online and wire color chart for the Ranger (brown/yellow for power, black/yellow for ground). I installed the camera mount behind the license plate on the bumper by drilling a few holes in the bumper and using sheet metal screws. The bracket is designed to go over the number plate and not cover most of the number plate (see image). I routed the camera cable through the left frame rail. This was the hardest part because the gas tank is right next to the frame. I was able to put a stiff pole through the frame, then tie the camera cable to the pole and pull it through. I attached it to the existing wiring, which also ran through the frame with zip ties where I could reach it. I drilled a 3/8" hole in the firewall for the cable and used a rubber grommet and putty to protect and seal the wire. I routed the wire under the dash so I could then use the wire clips on the front of the dash to keep the wire neat and in place. There were many wires. I had to coil up about 4 feet of extra cable and attach it under the dash. The Ford Ranger dashboard is quite crowded and there is no suitable place to install the display. The bend at the top of the dash doesn't match the included display bracket. So I figured I'd have to use a windshield mount, but found that I could slide the tab of the included mount over the HVAC dash vents and secure it to the dash with a couple of thin strips of mounting tape (see image). It sits clearly visible between the reversing display and the rearview mirror and does not obstruct your view through the windshield. It also does not interfere with the function of the ventilation flaps. Overall I am satisfied with this camera. The Ford Ranger's high, fixed headrests and cab shape make for very poor rear window visibility (worse if you're towing a load), so this camera is a great safety feature.
