Lang Tools 279 Caliper Press . Where have you been all my life? I bought a Lang Tools 279 caliper press to replace all 4 discs and pads on a 2010 Acura TL AWD. For 20 years I have always used the proven C-clamp technology when changing the brake pads on all my vehicles. but this tool makes the job much easier. especially with four pistons. The ratcheting action is smooth and easier to use. Highly loaded pressure plates distribute pressure evenly to the caliper pistons. No more fiddling with clunky C-clamps, metal and/or wood spacers, or cheap calipers - this caliper is right for me. A request for a future version of this tool. It would be helpful to have a mechanism that would allow me to easily attach/detach the handle. Once the pressure is holding the caliper pistons in place, it's a good idea to detach the grip to get it out of the way and leave the press in place. For a quick replacement of brake pads, this method is not needed, but for longer work. Changing/grinding the rotor, replacing bearings, etc. It would be nice if the press and caliper stayed in place and the crank didn't dangle in the way. Just a thought.
